I remember the bowline from other sources had 1. make a hole.
2. The rabbit comes out of the hole.
3.Runs around the tree.
4. And goes back into the hole.

Great way to remember that knot.
WHy do you use it; To put a secure loop at the end of a rope, like a screweye bolt.
